We have achieved our Health 4 Life in Primary Schools Award! Well done everyone!
As a healthy school we take the health of all of our children and staff very seriously and provide a wide range of ‘Health for Life’ opportunities, activities, and experiences that encourage our learning community to make positive life choices that promote good health and well being.
In addition to this we have been selected and given funding to take part in a ‘Health for Life’ project over the next two school years. Here are some of the exciting things we have been up to!
Here is what some of the children think about the project so far!
We have been lucky enough as a school to have cooking sessions with a chef. We have learnt lots of new skills, such as, how to chop foods safely using the bridge and claw method.
We have learnt how to peel foods carefully, using a palm peeler.
We have learnt how to measure accurately.
We have learnt how to stir things carefully.
We have learnt where different foods come from and tried lots of different foods we had never tried before. We are really proud of all the delicious things we have made.
We have planted lots of different things in our outdoor area.
We have even learnt how to look after ourselves in the wild!
