In Reception, we have been learning about the Chinese New Year.
One of the main aspects of Chinese New Year is food. We thought it would be great to allow the children to taste some of the food the Chinese people would eat.
The children tasted noodles, prawn crackers and fortune cookies. We provided the children with chopsticks to give them a more realistic experience. They found it tricky at first, but with practice, soon became quite efficient.
Bertie said, “I’m doing well with them. I can use them now.”
Zachary said, “It’s quite tricky to use chopsticks.”
Esme said about the noodles, “It’s like spaghetti.”
Emily Edwards about the prawn crackers, “I liked it. It tasted yummy.”
